Here are some of our plans for the transitional month of September at Urban Home Blog.

Wash down patio and rock wall. String rock wall with grape vines and spend one twilight on patio burning candles and sage to welcome the change of seasons.
Check house plants for signs of seasonal adjustment; trim, feed, water, refresh top soil accordingly.
Attend Los Angeles County Fair. Spend day in Domestic Arts pavilion while John visits model train displays. Meet at Dr. Bob's for annual fairground ice cream cone.
Make and can pear-cranberry jam, tomato jam, and dill pickles.
Measure bathroom window and have glass shelves cut and installed to display vintage barbering and apothecary ephemera.
Go through home library to cull for donations to Out of the Closet.
Begin seasonal closet changeover including selecting items for consignment or donation, inventorying bed and bath linens, and unpacking woolens for hand-washing.
Wash and disinfect bed pillows, pillow covers, comforters, and quilts. Disinfect and flip mattress.
Clean and condition leather furniture.
Meet John in Woodland Hills one Friday night to buy fall/winter work clothes. Have dinner at Maggiano's.
Order autumn coffee online: Black Vinyl and Red Room, McNulty's French Roast Java and Pumpkin Spice.
Change batteries in smoke detectors and weather station.
Take car to dealership for bi-annual service.
Visit Museum of Neon Art to view Brown Derby sign installation.
Figure out how best to use Snapchat!
Continue to work on new design for Urban Home Blog, including recipe cards and a picture library.
