Here are our plans for the prideful month of June at Urban Home Blog:

  • Honor solemn one year memorial of the Pulse Nightclub shootings. Renew personal commitments to justice and to community.
  • Attend #RESIST march on Pride weekend.
  • Attend Pridefest. Musts: community booths, art fair, photos.
  • Spend post-Pride evening at The Abbey as everyone calms down.
  • Host GLBT movie night. Screen The Boys in the Band and Torch Song. Serve martinis, quiche, arugula salad, and lemon cupcakes.
  • Attend Negroni Week at Big Bar in Los Feliz.
  • Ask gardener to test soil and roots of yard plantings to determine summer watering schedule.
  • Regularly visit West Hollywood Farmer's Market to obtain seasonal best produce, including Swiss Chard, leeks, garlic, and berries.
  • Schedule and play at least one tennis game a week.
  • Visit new Ikea in Burbank to replenish tea lights, batteries, light bulbs, and cutting boards.
  • Go through cleaning supplies. Safely dispose of outdated or underused items. Visit Koontz Hardware to replenish as indicated.
  • Have air conditioners cleaned and serviced. Order replacement filters.
  • Take John to dinner for his birthday at the steakhouse of his choice: The Smokehouse, Jar, or The Hitching Post.
